Launch - Printed Wood Phone Case
Backer checks out: your note, the copy ("printed on a Wenge backer"), and the alt text ("UV Printed Wenge Wood backer") all agree it's wenge. My visual concern is explained: this is a dense, full-coverage print, so the wood is completely covered, which is why no grain shows. That does change how I wrote it. There's also one clear typo. To reach for the stars, you have to start somewhere grounded. The Launch is built for space and sci-fi lovers, capturing that first heart-in-your-throat moment of liftoff in the style of a vintage space-travel poster.
The artwork is a detailed, stylized illustration of a space shuttle clearing the pad: the orbiter strapped to its external tank and twin boosters, engines lit, climbing out of a churning bank of exhaust clouds with the launch gantry standing behind it. The whole scene is rendered in a warm retro palette of oranges, ambers, and cream against a burning sunset sky, with the kind of clean linework and halftone shading you would find on a mid-century sci-fi print.
Each Launch is made on a real wenge wood backer in our Mississauga workshop, with the design printed in high-resolution UV ink directly onto the finished, laser-cut wood. Unlike our lighter prints, this illustration is dense enough to cover the backer edge to edge in full, saturated color, so it reads as one rich scene rather than a design floating over visible grain. Printing onto real wood still gives it a slim, solid backer with more substance than plastic. Available for all current iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models, with integrated MagSafe magnets and a soft microfiber interior lining on iPhone 13 and newer.
